Our Commitment
Social: Uplifting Our Communities
Ecuaplanet is not just a business, but a community built on respect, inclusion, and care.
Our workforce is made up of a significant number of women (60%), and we are deeply committed to helping them become economically independent. Many of these women are provided with opportunities to escape difficult situations, and we’re proud to stand by their side in this journey.
We also champion diversity in everything we do. Whether it’s in the fields or in our offices, we believe that every voice matters. Our initiatives go beyond the workplace: we have collaborated with local children’s nurseries and donation centers, ensuring the younger generations have a bright future.
Fair labor ethics are at the core of our operations, and we take great pride in genuinely caring for the wellbeing of our workers—they are the heart and soul of Ecuaplanet.
Ecological: Caring for our Land
Our practices are crafted with respect for the Earth. For example, we have significantly reduced harmful pesticide use, choosing instead to work with less intensive, more nature-friendly methods. These include biological control methods, such as using benefic microorganisms (fungi) and animals (insects) that prey on the organisms that threat the crops’ health. Our physical control measures include air path / current control to avoid the entrance of harmful organisms into the greenhouses and installations, as well as high-pressure water cleansing (to get rid of parasites that physically reside on the plants). Of course, we also rely on manual pruning for control inside our greenhouses.
Moreover, our irrigation system is mostly powered by harvested rainfall, and the reservoirs we’ve built have become sanctuaries for species like ground owls, ducks, and herons—animals that have returned to our land after years of absence. Check out these pictures of our feathery tenants!
We also believe in nurturing the soil that gives life to our roses. Through our compost center, we transform biological waste into nutrient-rich compost, giving back to the very earth we cultivate. Many of our structures are made from eucalyptus wood, a resource that regenerates with ease in the area. When wood is no longer needed, it is either composted or turned into mulch for our crops, continuing the cycle of life.
We don’t stop there—100% of the plastic used in our greenhouses is recycled through trusted third parties. And through our ecological education efforts, we’ve instilled the importance of the three R’s: “reduce, reuse, recycle,” across our farms. Every step we take is a genuine commitment to protecting our land for generations to come.
Our Tail-Wagging Members
At Ecuaplanet, we believe that every being deserves love and care—plants, people, and animals alike.
Over the years, we’ve rescued around 40 dogs who have been abandoned, mistreated, or lost. These dogs are not just animals—they are part of the Ecuaplanet family. We take great pride in providing them a safe, healthy, and loving home, where they live alongside us as loyal companions.
Additionally, we home Porky, a young pig who won our hearts and a ticket out of the grill! He can be found wagging his tail alongside his dog best friends and welcoming visitors at our Blooming Acres farm.
Thank You People, Thank You Planet.
All in all, our commitment to social and ecological causes stems from gratitude. We know that Ecuaplanet would not exist without the people who nurture it and the land that sustains it.
From the hands that harvest to the natural world that provides, we are thankful. Together, we are creating a community where every person, plant, material, and animal has a purpose.
